The most common confusion comes from a reflex: typing “iprof versailles” into a search engine and clicking on the first result. You often end up on the national page iprof.adc.education.fr, which then asks you to select an academy. The path works, but it adds an unnecessary step.
For the Versailles academy, the direct entry point remains the Arena portal accessible via bv.ac-versailles.fr. This portal centralizes all academic services: messaging, management applications, and IProf. Once authenticated on Arena, you can access IProf without having to enter your password again.

IProf Versailles Credentials: what blocks and how to unblock
The username follows a standard format in the national education system: the first letter of the first name followed by the last name, all in lowercase. For compound names or homonyms, the academy sometimes adds a number. This identifier can be found on the pay slip or on the letter of first assignment.
The initial password corresponds to the Numen (national education identification number). After the first login, the system prompts you to change it. And that’s where the problems start for many colleagues: the new password is forgotten a few weeks later.
Resetting your password without going through the rectorate
The Arena authentication page offers a “forgot password” link. The procedure sends a reset email to the academic address ([email protected]). If you have never set up this email account, you won’t receive anything.
- First, check that the academic messaging is activated via the Versailles webmail (also accessible from Arena)
- If the webmail doesn’t work either, contact the academy’s IT support platform, which can reset both accesses simultaneously
- Keeping your Numen accessible (on a paper document, not in a file on the institution’s computer) allows you to quickly resolve the situation in case of a support call
Feedback varies on the response times from support: some receive a new password within a few hours, while others wait several days during the back-to-school period.
IProf Services Tab: the management campaigns we miss
Once logged in, you think you’ve done the hardest part. But IProf does not display all its features permanently. The “Services” tab only shows the management campaigns open at the time of login: promotions, transfers, career appointments.
Specifically, a teacher eligible for promotion to the hors-classe will only see the corresponding tab during the campaign period. Outside of this window, nothing appears, and one might believe that the feature does not exist. The CGT Éduc’action Versailles has reminded that access to the promotion campaign only appears if the agent is declared eligible, meaning that an ineligible colleague simply does not see the same screen.
Check your administrative file before the opening of a campaign
The “Your file” tab remains accessible at all times. It contains the body, grade, step, assignment, and career history. Before each campaign (inter-academic transfer in November, hors-classe in the spring), it is advisable to check that all information is up to date.
An incorrectly entered step or an assignment that has not been updated can skew the transfer scale. Correcting an error in IProf takes several weeks if you wait until the last moment, because the modification goes through the HR manager of the rectorate.
IProf Versailles Messaging: what has changed to contact your manager
IProf includes an internal messaging system that historically allowed direct contact with your management correspondent. This feature has evolved. The SNALC Versailles has reported that it is no longer possible to query your manager via IProf messaging for certain HR needs. You now need to use the email address of the relevant service at the rectorate.
This modification is not visibly documented in the interface. You send a message via IProf, wait for a response that doesn’t come, and end up calling the rectorate to learn that you should have written to a different address.
- For payroll-related questions, contact the financial management service of the rectorate directly by email
- For transfer or promotion requests, IProf messaging remains the indicated channel during open campaigns
- For a change in personal situation (address, civil status), prefer sending an email to the manager with a copy of supporting documents attached
Keeping a written record of each exchange (screenshot of the IProf message, copy of the sent email) remains the best protection in case of administrative disputes.
Connecting to IProf in the Versailles academy does not pose any major technical difficulties once you know the correct entry point and how the campaigns work. The real trap is discovering too late that your file contains an error or that the contact channel has changed. Checking your file once a quarter, even without an ongoing campaign, avoids most administrative blockages.
